AFTER THE CHRISTCHURCH MASSACRE
One of the most outstanding things has been the huge amount of praise for our PM Jacinda Ardern by Muslims around the world and by the left-leaning media. Her image was projected on to the tallest building in the world in Muslim Dubai, and there are proposals to nominate her for a Nobel Prize. In the eyes of the world she is a raging success. Someone has said that she should win the prestigious Muslim King Faisal International Prize for Service to Islam!
Jesus in Luke 6:26 says, “Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for that is how their fathers treated the false prophets.”
There was a call for New Zealanders to wear a head scarf to show unity and support for Muslims. In Austria, non-Muslim girls are being forced to wear hijabs to avoid harassment from Muslim migrants, while in Iran a lawyer who defends women who don’t wear a hijab was sentenced to 38 years in prison and 148 lashes. One Muslim father choked his daughter to death with her hijab because she refused to wear it and another Christian woman in Somalia was murdered because she wasn’t wearing a hijab. Many other such atrocities have been reported.
Ardern has announced a royal commission of inquiry into the Christchurch terror attack to see how it could have been prevented. Gun laws are already being looked at. Banning firearms does not deter those bent on massacre. There is a stabbing crisis in London and many have been killed by vehicles being used as weapons. There are also suicide bombings. Academics, journalists and social commentators are now considering what other legislation could be passed or revised to prevent another attack of such enormity. Deputy PM Winston Peters has said that banning hate speech should be considered, but he does have concerns about restricting freedom of speech.
In the UK a street preacher was arrested earlier this year outside Southgate tube station then later released. A member of the public complained that he had made ‘Islamophobic’ comments. When London Muslim mayor Khan was pressed on whether Christians could openly read from any part of the Bible without fear of arrest, he refused to rule out the possibility of similar arrests happening again in the future. The incident has given rise to concerns about freedom of speech for Christians. This is not the first time Christians have suffered for their beliefs at the hands of the police in the UK and while trying to enter the UK as a migrant too.
The source of the problem is governments who are now protecting beliefs of a favoured group of individuals rather than people. This is what happens with hate crime laws. If Muslim beliefs are protected, then Christians can no longer freely give the Gospel message without fear of arrest.
A tradie has lost his job after making comments about Muslims following the Christchurch massacre. He didn’t mention the shooting but simply stated facts about the destructive behaviour of Muslims living in the UK. One workmate was offended by his comments, so he lost his job.
LOOKING FOR SOMEONE TO BLAME:
The head of NZ’s biggest mosque, the Masjid e Umar in Mt. Roskill, has been criticised for blaming the Christchurch massacres on Israel’s Mossad. We should not be surprised by this as the Qur’an demonises the Jews in various ways, depicting them as inveterately evil and bent on destroying the well-being of the Muslims. He made his statement at a rally attended by thousands in Aotea Square Auckland for victims. Someone in the crowd loudly replied, “That is the truth, Israel is behind it.”
The Jewish community has reacted with outrage to the news. In Christchurch, Rabbis and Jewish community leaders supported and prayed with others for the victims and their families. In the US, the Jewish community in Pittsburgh, just five months after suffering a xenophobic terror attack of its own, has so far raised $60,000 for the Christchurch victims in acknowledgement of the way people of so many different faiths and from all around the world supported them.
At a vigil in Auckland some left after it turned into a political rally when white settler history and colonial violence in NZ were raised. Sharon Hawke of Ngāti Whātua Orakei said hatred existed in NZ and that white hatred is its foundation. She spoke of NZ’s past atrocities including at Parihaka. It is important for us to remember that it was white missionaries who brought the Gospel to NZ and brought peace between many tribes. At the end of last year Parihaka received $9 million in a reconciliation agreement between the Crown and the Parihaka Papakāinga Trust. White Christians were on the side of the people of Parihaka but all white people are now being classified together as haters.
Ardern thinks that a royal commission of inquiry will reveal more about how an attack like the one in Christchurch can be avoided again. This approach ignores the fact that most terrorist attacks in the West are now from radical Muslims following the Qur’an. In fact, most New Zealanders haven’t a clue about the terrorist attacks, destruction, rapes, female genital mutilations, child brides, Sharia law courts which send women back to abusive husbands, no-go zones, etc., that are occurring in the West as a result of bringing in thousands of Muslim refugees. There are Muslims who are genuinely upset by this but are too frightened to speak out. There is, admittedly, a rise in instances of the native populations fighting back but this is very small compared with the number of jihad attacks.
NZ’s current problems seem to arise from two major problems. Scripture tells us that those who bless Israel will be blessed and those who curse Israel will be cursed. NZ has consistently voted against Israel and for the Palestinians at the UN Security Council since US Secretary of State John Kerry persuaded NZ to sponsor Resolution 2334 which would hand over Judea and Samaria (the “West Bank”) as well as East Jerusalem and the Temple Mount to the Palestinians. Since then we have had one natural disaster after another. Also, several years ago the name of Jesus was removed from the opening prayer of Parliament which was broadcast across the nation. Now we have had an imam pray in Parliament and the Muslim call to prayer broadcast across the nation. Muslims claim that there is no god but Allah and that he has no son. Muslims are offended if they are told that the Jesus of the Bible is the only way of salvation. Recently in the US, a Pennsylvanian Muslim lawmaker has stated the prayer in the name of Jesus is “Islamophobic.”
The Christian response was mixed. There was much interfaith activity. Love was certainly poured out by many. Following a request put out to some churches, some Christians took to the high places around NZ to proclaim the lordship of Jesus Christ over our nation. This is a New Apostolic Reformation teaching. The idea of praying on high places is to cast out evil spirits over areas so that those living in bondage below would now be able to respond to the Gospel. Sue Rowe of Hamilton also put out a NAR call for prayer full of nonbiblical prayer techniques such as loosing and decreeing. Sue Rowe once led me very astray as a baby Christian by promoting false prophets including Cindy Jacobs. I was puzzled and mystified when their prophecies for a revival in NZ never took place!
As Christians, we should know that love by itself cannot change society. There is an increasing tendency to suppress right doctrine for the sake of unity. We cannot love Jesus without truth. The Muslim community desperately needs to hear the Gospel message. The job of a Christian is not just to love people but to obey the Great Commission and make disciples of people. We need boldness and strength to share the Gospel. Time is running out, and many Christians simply do not understand the times we are living, often because of false teaching.
Neither do many Christians understand what Islam is about, and the way it is taking over Western cultures and destroying them. There is much work to do not just with the unsaved, but with confused Christians too.
The US has now recognized the Golan Heights as part of Israel and is updating maps accordingly. Turkey’s Erdogan is so furious he has confirmed that the Hagia Sophia will become a mosque. Hagia Sophia in Istanbul is a former Greek Orthodox cathedral, later an Ottoman imperial mosque and presently a museum.
There are warnings of very large increases in food prices as well as food shortages as a result of extreme flooding in various places, including Mozambique, Iran and in the US. There are also warnings of a developing recession (Rev 6).
In the US, Jewish parents in Georgia are furious over a map of the terror state ‘Palestine’ replacing Israel featured at a middle school multicultural night.
In Hungary, Jews are now scared to speak out as anti-Semitism spreads. The former mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, says it is not anti-Semitic to hate Israeli Jews.
Buddhists at Kodaiji Temple in Japan have begun worshipping a robot named Mindar modelled after Kannon Goddess of Mercy. Is this foreshadowing the image of the beast that will eventually be worshipped (Rev 13)?
Big brother is watching: Apple has demanded Natural News stop publishing articles critical of abortions or Satanism, threatening to block the Natural News app from all Apple devices if Apple’s demands are not met.
Girl Scouts of Southern Arizona have given the highest award, the Gold Award, to Meghna Gopalan for her volunteer work on “reproductive health justice.” She said her goal was to ‘educate people about and destigmatize access to women’s healthcare,’ a euphemism for abortion.
The attorneys for a church in Seattle filed a federal lawsuit against Washington state officials for forcing churches to pay for elective abortions in their health insurance.
Continuing his preparations for a coming One World Religion of the Antichrist, Pope Francis has held a closed-door meeting with the head of the Mormon Church, Prophet President Russell M. Nelson. This is not long after he signed a “Universal Peace Document” with a high-ranking leader of Islam.
Francis prayed publicly for the Christians massacred recently in Nigeria and Mali for their faith in Jesus. However, he refused to acknowledge that Muslims did all the killings and burning of dozens of homes and churches. Barnabas Fund says that more than 300 Christians were slaughtered.
Francis has been in Morocco and told Morocco’s tiny Catholic community that their role in the predominantly Muslim country was not to convert their neighbours but live in brotherhood with all other faiths.
In France, a Catholic archbishop gave a short speech at the inauguration of the largest mosque in France, saying he was “delighted” for the Muslim community of Reims.
In the US, many more Catholics are now considering leaving their church, mainly because of the sex scandals.
The Federation of Islamic Associations in New Zealand is planning a global conference of leaders from the Muslim world in August in the wake of the Christchurch attacks.
