Be Very Alert! – By Val Hollard (NZ)
On Watch at the Door No 304, 27 April 2020
SOME NEWS FROM THE MIDDLE EAST AND EUROPE
After three elections Israel is to have a unity government with Likud’s Netanyahu remaining PM for another 18 months then being replaced in October 2021 by Blue and White’s Benny Gantz. Gantz will serve as vice PM in the meantime. The final agreement dovetails with most of Netanyahu’s demands, including on the annexation of parts of the West Bank, a process that it says can begin in July 2020. The Palestinians have warned that the extension of Israeli sovereignty to any part of the West Bank would signal the end of the two-state solution. The God of the Bible has a one state solution in favour of Israel. There is trouble coming!
Iran’s Defence Ministry has unveiled a mass of new drones for its armed forces. According to Tehran, the drones have new capabilities, and can fly more than 1,000 km., which means they could reach Israel from Iran. Could these be the army described in Joel 2 which will appear in the day of the Lord?
Turkish president Erdogan says: Turkey will take its place as head of the nations. “In this new world that is being built, we’ll work harder to claim our place in the most powerful way. The obstacles in front of Turkey’s 2023 goals are being removed on their own. Together with our nation we will complete the construction of a major and powerful Turkey.” Erdogan faces some opposition from French President Macron who is also wanting to take on the mantle of leader of the New World Order with the blessing and full support of Pope Francis.
The member states of the EU are acting unilaterally over Covid-19 and are now ignoring the EU’s advice. Leaders have been acting selfishly in their own national interest rather than for the good of the EU as a whole. Severely afflicted Italy and Spain were denied help and as countries are now beginning to loosen up lock-downs there is no co-ordination. The inability of the EU to provide effective leadership in a time of crisis is raising questions about its future.
Terrorist groups across the world are exploiting the pandemic to wreak havoc. Canadian, French, Spanish, UK and Czech troops have been pulling out of Iraq allowing ISIS to take advantage and launch more attacks north of Baghdad. Problems are also arising in Syria and Libya.
Firstly, Covid-19 is not a hoax. Earlier I was forwarded a number of links which supported this idea. I had already seen videos and information from Wuhan with health workers dying that led me to believe it really was something serious.
When Covid-19 first started taking lives in China, many in the West thought it was just like the flu and they needn’t worry about it. The WHO says that Covid-19 is 10 times deadlier than the 2009 flu. There are several things about Covid-19 that make it a huge problem. It is far more infectious than the flu and people can carry it and spread it without realising it.
In a recent prophecy update John Haller has shared some information from the Wall Street Journal comparing Covid-19 and seasonal influenza. The study concluded the following:
Median hospital stay – Covid-19 12 days, flu 3.6 days.
Hospitalisation rate – Covid-19 10.64%, flu 1.33%.
Fatality rate – Covid-19 3-5%, flu 0.11%.
The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 is also an underestimate. The numbers getting Covid-19 in care homes for the aged in many countries is frightening. In NZ, some of our worst clusters are among the elderly in care. Around the world, many doctors, nurses and health care workers are dying.
John Haller also points out that a lot of people are saying the virus must be a hoax because they are seeing hospitals and their parking lots empty. They are empty because hospitals have stopped elective surgery and health workers are concentrated in the hospitals where Covid-19 patients are being treated. These patients require much more intensive care. We may well see more people dying of heart conditions, stroke, cancer, etc., because they are not receiving the treatments and help that would normally be available.
COVID-19 IS NOT THE ONLY PROBLEM
The news is full of Covid-19 news, but there is a convergence of many other things too and these will increase further in the days to come. Countries are experiencing these things at the same time as dealing with the coronavirus.
A deadly olive tree disease across Europe which has killed swathes of olive trees in Italy could now pose a threat to olive plantations in Spain and Greece.
A second wave of desert locusts, projected to be 20 times the size of earlier swarms that the UN has called “unprecedented,” is expected to arrive in Africa and the Middle East over the summer.
In the US, a series of tornadoes have killed at least 30 people.
The UN has released US$2.5 million from its emergency humanitarian fund to help thousands of people in Vanuatu affected by Cyclone Harold. The cyclone also hit the Solomon Islands, Fiji and Tonga hard. Over two dozen people were left dead and homes, buildings and crops in the four countries were destroyed.
Regions of SE Europe experienced their coldest April mornings for a decade, just as vineyards and orchards entered crucial blossoming stages. Large parts of SE Europe have experienced almost 100% damage.
Record cold and snowfall hit many parts of North America over the Easter weekend. Records were toppled with Montana, Iowa, South Dakota, and Colorado seemingly worst hit.
Severe weather in both Thailand and Yemen has caused massive property damage and some lives have been lost.
Parts of Finland have received record-breaking April snowfall.
There are earthquakes and erupting volcanoes around the globe. Since January 21, the Reykjanes peninsula in Iceland has experienced more than 8,000 earthquakes and about 10 centimetres of land uplift.
The Krakatoa volcano in Indonesia has exploded. Though two relatively small eruptions were recorded, the volcano is a hot spot and cause for concern. In 1883, a Krakatoa eruption had one of the highest death tolls of any volcanic eruption, killing more than 36,000 people. The most recent eruption at the site was in 2018, generating a tsunami and killing 437 people.
DISRUPTION OF FOOD CHAINS, FOOD SHORTAGES AND PROTESTS
As a result of lock-downs and other disasters such as those just mentioned, there is a serious shortage of food in many countries and also a problem with food distribution. When the Antichrist appears and the seals are opened we know there will be extensive famines (Rev 6). This is a taste of what is to come.
The head of the UN World Food Programme says that the world is at risk of widespread famines as it deals with the coronavirus. A report estimates that the number suffering from hunger could go from 135 million to more than 250 million. In Lebanon hunger is growing along with anger. In Africa there is a dilemma of “starve or get sick with Covid-19” as some people eat from the markets and sell and buy food on a daily basis. In other countries good food is being thrown out as the food chain has been disrupted.
The IMF warns that the world faces the biggest economic crisis since the Great Depression.
Anger is rising in places with lock-downs and this is especially evident in America where hordes have taken to the streets. In Israel hundreds have gathered in Jerusalem to protest the stringent social distancing measures.
Racial tensions have increased in a number of places since the Covid-19 outbreak and governments hostile to Christianity are using the pandemic to suppress Christianity and other religious minorities.
Christians in Pakistan have been denied food aid for the fourth time amid the lock-down. Only Muslims have been given aid.
In India, a pastor and a team of youth missionaries from his church were abused and falsely charged earlier this month for providing food and clothing to the poor, in another instance of police complicity with the radical Hindu nationalist agenda.
Analysts say that Islamist groups are calling for a step up in attacks worldwide, via their online networks, as governments and security agencies concentrate their efforts and resources on combatting Covid-19 and maintaining social order.
Pope Francis blames the coronavirus on nature ‘having a fit’ over environmental damage.
In NZ, an alarming report has found that porn has become the ‘default learning tool’ for sex-curious youth and is having a negative impact on the sex lives of young Kiwis. During the Covid-19 lock-down traffic to the large porn sites has increased along with compulsive viewing.
Ramadan this year is from 23 April to 23 May. As mosques close down in Britain as part of the measures against Covid-19, the BBC for the first time has begun to broadcast the Islamic call to prayer on its networks.
The New York Governor Cuomo has said that the Covid-19 numbers are down in New York because they brought the number down, God didn’t do that.
Speaking on French radio, Macron said he had secured the agreement of several of the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council to back a call by the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres for a global ceasefire as Covid-19 numbers continue to soar. Macron said that China, the US and the UK were on board and he was optimistic about Russia.
Madonna, who is a Satanist, has announced that she is joining the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation effort to find a drug that will prevent or treat Covid-19.
The UK’s new Shadow Minister for Community Cohesion MP Naz Shah has said that Muslim rape gang victims should “shut up for the good of diversity.”
In the US, the Episcopal Bishop of Albany, William Love, has been accused of violating canon law by showing “unwillingness to abide by Resolution B012” – which stipulates that bishops must permit same-sex weddings to take place in their dioceses.
Lifeway Research has revealed that 98% of the church will not teach on anything end-time related as it is considered too controversial. However, many pastors are apparently now having an “aha” moment due to the signs of the times.
The Danish Bible Society has just published a revised translation of the New Testament, called New Agreement, which has removed any references to Israel, whether it describes the land or the people. Elaine Duncan, Global Council Chairperson of the Bible Society, noted that the new edition has already been downloaded to more than 90 countries, which she considered to be a great success at moving towards what she described as a “global church.”
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. (2 Cor 4:16-18)
