THE CONTINUING DECLINE OF CHRISTIANITY IN THE WEST
“’These people honour me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.’ You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men.” (Mark 7:6-8)
Christianity is declining in the West at a rapid rate. And NZ is no exception. A short while ago, Karl du Fresne, a columnist for The Dominion Post and a freelance journalist, wrote an opinion piece, Saving the planet now, rather than saving souls. He says he never goes to church except for funerals, but he has far more insight into what is wrong with churches today than perhaps the majority of church goers.
He lists a number of examples. The new Bishop-elect of the Anglican diocese of Christchurch, Dr Peter Carrell, was quoted as saying he looked forward to working co-operatively with the mayor and the city council on matters of mutual interest and concern, especially challenges facing the city around homelessness, poverty and climate change. “Of God and salvation, which some Christians still quaintly regard as the core of their faith, there was no mention.”
In a second example, Morning Report ran a story about the director of the Anglican Advocacy Unit calling for stricter rules to control deceitful and manipulative property managers. “Nothing about saving souls there, either.” In the third example he quotes Pope Francis speaking to business leaders, “We cannot allow our seas and oceans to be littered by endless fields of floating plastic.”
Du Fresne concludes that these examples are evidence of the mainstream churches desperately searching for relevance in an increasingly secular world, and of deluding themselves that they will find it by pushing fashionable political barrows.
It is a sign of the times we are living in that more books and DVDs are appearing warning about the decline of Christianity in the West. Most are optimistic. They point out how the church has descended into deep darkness in the past but has been able to reform and get back on track again. However, I am a lot more pessimistic, especially for two prophetic reasons. Israel is now back in its own land and is surrounded by nations that want to see her totally destroyed. Jerusalem is the goal (Zech 12). Satan is behind all this evil. He wants to get rid of all Jews and Israel in order to prevent Jesus from returning. Secondly, Jesus said it would be as in the days of Noah and Lot, and blatant sexual immorality is certainly becoming an accepted norm. Church pastors even view porn about as much as the secular world.
The Fight of our Lives is a new documentary out which warns, “Civilizations, empires, great powers, can fall apart very fast. Collapse can come suddenly, like a thief in the night. And we should be very wary of assuming that our civilization, the civilization of the early 21st century West, will oblige us by declining gradually.”
Patrick Sookhdeo in The Death of Western Christianity” reports that a UK 2017 study found that for each person brought up with no religion who later embraces Christianity, there are 26 people brought up as Christians who turn agnostic or atheist. Sookhdeo blames Christian leaders for the rot as they betray the Gospel and ape the culture. Across the West, the number professing Christianity is falling at an alarming rate. Some studies show that Christians are as likely, or in some cases more likely, to have sex before or outside marriage, lie, cheat, steal, divorce and pursue materialism than their non-Christian counterparts. We now live in a post-Christian era and in a new Dark Age. Christians are now frequently considered a danger to society and also as terrorists.
Even though Western nations are becoming more ungodly and anti-Christian, Christians must never stop displaying biblical principles in a world that is increasingly hostile towards them. They must resist all temptations to merge with the culture simply to please people and hope it will attract more people into the church. Rather, we must prepare for persecution.
“Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season,” that is, when there is no obstacle to preach the Word of God and when even your life may be endangered by sharing the Gospel. We must be prepared, for the time has come when men will no longer put up with sound doctrine(2 Tim 4:2-3).
AS IN THE DAYS OF LOT
California has passed a law aimed at guaranteeing access to gender surgery and hormonal treatments for foster children who identify as transgender.
The American Academy of Pediatricians has released a new medical guideline supporting the surgical and hormonal transition of transgender children and adolescents.
The number of people identifying as transgender is on the rise in the US and the UK, including many children and teens. In the UK, young people referred for “gender treatment” has increased from 97 in 2009 to 2,510 in 2017-2018. In the US some doctors have been accepting cases of healthy girls as young as 13 who identify as males and are performing double mastectomies on them to “avoid the trauma of developing breasts.” The Telegraph reports that the promotion of transgender issues in schools has ‘sown confusion’ in children’s minds and that encouraging children to question gender has ‘become an industry.’

The Temple Institute has announced the birth of a flawless all-red heifer that could pave the way for the next Temple to be built (the Antichrist’s one as foretold in the Bible). A red heifer, at least three (some say two) years old, is required to be sacrificed so the ashes, mixed with water, can be used for purification (Numbers 19). According to The Temple Institute, these cleansing waters are necessary to ritually purify the Temple Mount area, the sacred vessels, and the entire Levitical priesthood that are all being prepared for service today. If these Jews accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, they would realise that He fulfilled the red-heifer prophecy and a red-heifer sacrifice for cleansing is no longer needed. Jesus cleanses us when we accept Him as Lord and Saviour, having been the sacrifice for us. (See Hebrews)
Members of the Christian Transhumanism Association say they are called by Christ to participate in a mission that involves the transformation and renewal of creation including humanity. The CTA is aggressively stepping up its program of combining what it sees as biblical Christian values with science’s promise of longer life, leaving true Christians appalled.
In an ultimate rebellion, as church attendance declines, Satanism is experiencing explosive growth in America. Biblical history reveals high peaks of satanic activity occur when God is ignored or rejected. Every week, bizarre rituals are conducted in basements, meeting halls and public facilities all over the country, and most Americans have absolutely no idea what is going on. These Satanists want the rest of us to view Satan or Lucifer as a “misunderstood” being that only has humanity’s best interests at heart. And since the values of Satanism line up more accurately with the values of modern society than Christian values do, Satanists are finding increasing success in bringing in new recruits.
An estimated 68 million people, 1% of the world’s population, are now displaced by war and persecution. Turkey, Bangladesh and Uganda alone received over half of all new refugees last year. Forty million people are displaced within their own countries, and another 28.5 million have crossed a border and become refugees.
NZ PM Jacinda Ardern spoke in praise of Mandela at the Nelson Mandela UN Peace Summit which celebrated the 100th year since Mandela’s birth. However, Nelson Mandela always remained a communist/Marxist/globalist. After release from prison he just changed his technique. South Africa also became a major exporter of hatred against Israel and called it an apartheid and terrorist state. Gross discrimination has continued in South Africa. Ardern said that Mandela was a living embodiment of the United Nations’ values. I’d go along with that!
In NZ, a public meeting in Hamilton to discuss the euthanasia bill drew a crowd of hundreds, both for and against. Four students from the Catholic Sacred Heart Girls’ College attended the meeting. One girl said they know what the Catholic Church thinks about it and said she understands the Catholic belief, but said our government can’t be dictated by religion because New Zealand is becoming more and more secular. They were in strong favour of the bill passing even though Pope Francis has denounced euthanasia as “a sin against God and creation.”
Freedom gained: Free speech has just received a boost on campuses in NZ. Massey University vice-chancellor Jan Thomas earlier banned former National Party leader and Reserve Bank governor Don Brash from speaking at Massey, but it has backfired and she is now in danger of losing her position. From emails obtained under an Official Information Act request, University academics learnt that Thomas wanted him banned because of his “racist behaviour” which she thought didn’t line up with the views of the University. Brash has now announced that he’s been invited back to speak on the 17th October by the Politics Society students, and so far it seems that the University is going to let him appear, which is surely some sort of victory for free speech. I repeat what I wrote earlier: Universities are vital avenues for debate and speakers should not be excluded if they hold different views from those of the university. In America it is now impossible for some speakers to speak on campuses, especially when they desire to warn about Islam or speak in support of Israel. Christian organisations are also being banned from campuses. Speakers who encourage jihad or the persecution or killing of others such as Jews should of course be banned.
Freedoms lost: In his latest prophecy update, John Haller reports on three instances where freedoms have been lost.
In China, a journalist has been restricted because his Social Credit score is too low. He has even been stopped from buying a train ticket and is virtually under house arrest. He is listed as “dishonest.” This is how they describe people who are in debt. The journalist denies still being in debt but there is no way of challenging it.
Apple is now giving people “trust scores” based on their calls and emails in a social credit system similar to China’s.
In France, far-right leader and former presidential candidate Marine Le Pen says she has been ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation because she tweeted out graphic images of ISIS’s violence, including the execution of American journalist James Foley. Le Pen claims she was tweeting in response to a journalist who compared ISIS to her far-right party. She is refusing to be tested, and there is no legal mechanism for forcing someone to be tested.
In the UK, one police force is now actively policing emotions. Police are asking people to report incidents which make them feel bad even if they weren’t crimes. Last year an average of nine people a day were arrested for writing “hurty words” on line. The cost of defending yourself is enormous. Many good people are now reluctant to share an opinion for fear of persecution.

SOME SIMILARITIES BETWEEN THE 1ST AND 2ND COMINGS OF JESUS
I hadn’t read any novels for a while but was intrigued to discover that well-known Christian apologist Dave Hunt had written one, Mind Invaders, formerly called The Archon Conspiracy. Before I became a Christian I was both demon-possessed and demon-oppressed and well aware of their power though I did not realise that it was demons controlling me until I became a Christian. In a certain way I could identify with much in that book. It certainly contains a warning for us now.
At the first coming of Christ there was increased demonic activity, and this is the same pattern now. Not only is there a greater interest in occultic activities such as Eastern meditation, yoga, how to contact your spirit guides, etc., in the general population, but it is entering the church too. Much of the increase in suicide rates, drug taking, violence, the LGBT movement, etc., can be attributed to demonic activity. In the church, people are trying to get closer to God in various ways which will lead them into danger. Deafening music, flashing lights, repeating the same line of a song over and over, can also lead to experiences which are not from God
At the 1st coming of Jesus the people followed Him everywhere because they were enthralled with His signs and wonders: that He could walk on water, feed thousands from a little boy’s lunch, heal the blind, etc. They wanted miracles. Now untold thousands have fallen under the spell of people like Benny Hinn, Bill Johnson and Todd Bentley. They love signs and wonders and spiritual experiences and put them above Jesus and His Word. Jesus warned, “Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders, you will never believe.” (John 5:48)
People are being primed for the great signs and wonders of the Antichrist. The apostle Peter warns Christians to “Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world are undergoing the same kind of sufferings.” (1 Pet 5:8-9) James also tells us to resist the devil (4:7-8). There is a tremendous rise in the demonic and many Christians are being deceived as nonbiblical practices are accepted in the church. Be on guard!
Many Jews at the 1st coming also had a Kingdom Now gospel. They wanted a king to bring them out from the tyranny of the Romans. In Matthew 12, there is a description of the triumphal entry into Jerusalem that Jesus made at His 1st coming. He came humbly, riding on a colt, to sacrifice His life as atonement for the sins of those who would believe in Him. But they wanted prosperity now, not a Suffering Servant who would die on a cross. They wanted what Jesus will bring at His 2nd coming. We won’t get real health and wealth until the millennium.
But it is all happening again now. Recently 7,000 evangelicals from over 100 different countries took part in the annual Jerusalem Feast of Tabernacles celebration. This Feast looks forward to Jesus Christ’s return for His millennial reign on earth. The March is organised by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ) to show solidarity with Israel.
However, ICEJ and many other groups bringing Jews back to Israel are not interested in bringing the Gospel message to the Jewish people. They do not tell Jews about their sinfulness and need for repentance and acceptance of Jesus as their Messiah. At ICEJ Conferences they have had Kingdom Now/New Apostolic Reformation speakers such as Cindy Jacobs. Many of the 7,000 March participants are unaware of ICEJ’s erroneous teachings.
Many people both inside and outside the church are now looking for peace, love, tolerance and unity without Jesus. Those who are making contact with the demonic world are all getting the same message – unite to bring peace. Many church leaders are putting a non-biblical unity far above doctrine. You now find them sharing platforms and standing alongside such false teachers as Rick Warren and Bill Johnson, Mormons, Catholics, Muslims, anyone. The apostle Paul warns that “While people are saying, “Peace and Safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labour pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.” (1 Thess 5:3) They are being set up to come under the spell of the Antichrist.
A startling number of people are now supporting the idea that everyone will be saved in the end (universalism). Rob Bell promoted this in his 2011 book Love Wins. William Paul Young also promotes it in his best-seller The Shack. Pastors do not want to upset their sheep so you hardly ever hear a sermon on the devil, demons, hell or the danger of the occult. Unbeknown to them, many of today’s ministers are preparing the way for the Antichrist. Satan wants you to believe in his peace plans and the coming Antichrist but there can be no unity outside of Jesus.
It becomes more crucial than ever to be self-controlled and alert and to make sure of your salvation in Christ Jesus and that you have on the full armour of God so you can defend yourself against all the wiles of the devil (Eph 6). God has provided in His Word everything we need to know about salvation, truth and deception. A time is coming soon when all true Christians will be hated by all and will suffer, as have the faithful from the start of the church.

On a three-day visit to Germany the Turkish President Erdogan opened one of Europe’s largest mosques in Cologne. Germany has a three-million strong Turkish population, many for and many against Erdogan. Many fled Turkey in the failed coup in 2016 and now Turkey wants Germany to hand them over. Thousands turned out in demonstrations, both for and against the visit.
In Turkey, sexual abuse against children increased by 700% in the 10 years to 2017, according to the Diyarbakir Bar Association.
The Tanzanian government has suspended Family Planning advertisements funded by the US. President John Magufuli expressed concern that the promotion of birth control could contribute to a detrimental decline in population growth. “I have travelled to Europe and elsewhere and have seen the harmful effects of birth control,” Magufuli stated. “Some countries are now facing declining population growth. They are short on manpower.”
Some 300 schoolchildren in the overtly Christian Zhejiang province in China have been forced to fill out a form declaring that they do not follow any religion.
The dumbing down of civilization has been codified in a new study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. A pair of researchers from Norway found that average IQ levels are dropping precipitously, and that with each new generation, people in general are becoming progressively less intelligent.
In a bold marketing move, the Mormon Church will no longer be using the name “Mormon” in an effort to rebrand its cult image. Church President Russell M. Nelson announced guidelines requesting that people stop using “Mormon” or “LDS” as substitutes for the church’s full name. The term Mormon comes from the church’s signature scripture, the Book of Mormon, which followers believe is based on the record keeping of an ancient prophet named Mormon. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is also stripping the word Mormon from its name.
Islamic violence has got so bad at Swedish schools that many are forced to permanently close because they can’t ensure the safety of their citizens. The violence varies from smashed up classrooms to robbery, stabbings and murder, and it is carried out by students against other students and teachers.
UNESCO has revealed that they partnered with International Peace Foundation to study all religions of the world and find out which was most peaceful amongst all. “After six months of rigorous study and analysis, we have concluded that Islam is the most peaceful religion,” Robert McGee, head of comparative studies wing of International Peace Foundation declared.
The BBC has published a video showing 6-year-olds learning about gay marriage in order to promote diversity. Teacher Sarah Hopson told the BBC, “In this fairy tale, the prince wants to marry his [male] servant. And the children are writing a love letter,” Hopson said. She noted that she believes it’s important for children to learn about gay marriage at such a young age because those same children would “go out into that world and find this diversity around them, and they’ll find that out at a young age as well.”
A baby born in Britain might be the first ever to not have a mother listed on the birth certificate because the woman who gave birth identifies as a man.
Austria is to close seven mosques and deport imams in a crackdown on ‘political Islam.’ The country’s coalition government, formed of conservative and far-right figures, said the measures were “just the beginning” of a push against radical Islam and foreign funding of religious groups.
THE GLOBAL COMPACT ON REFUGEES
Justin Trudeau’s Canada plans to lead the way on the UN global refugee plan which would force countries to take in Islamic and African migrants whether they want to or not. The Global Compact on Refugees will be formally adopted by the UN General Assembly in the next couple of months. The starting premise of the Compact is that caring for those forced to flee their home is a shared responsibility that must be borne more equitably and predictably. Canada has welcomed a vast number of migrants including Islamists who have crossed into Canada from the US. These migrants are now causing considerable problems.
The US administration still has a refugee resettlement program but now with a reduced number of refugees and better screening of who is coming into the US. Trump is opposed, however, to joining the bandwagon of reckless globalist leaders who are willing to subject their populations to increasing crime and the breakdown of the rule of law, as seen today in many areas across Europe, along with the expansion of Salafist influence. Europe has lost track of thousands of its refugees, many of whom, possibly 7 out of 10, are not refugees at all but “economic migrants” now living off taxpayers who have to foot the bill.
In NZ, New Zealand First delegates at the party’s annual convention have voted to support the party introducing a bill that would make migrants and refugees “respect New Zealand values.” One delegate said, “I’m afraid we’re getting some certain types creeping in, of various nationalities, or various ideas, that are not actually kosher with New Zealand’s way of life.” The bill includes respect for gender equality, religious freedom and New Zealand law. One delegate said, “We will not put up with nonsense like what has happened overseas, people coming in and creating a lot of trouble.” Opinion piece writer Joel Maxwell calls it racist and “bare-faced animosity against non-white migrants.”
This Compact has the potential to unite many countries in the false belief that the lives of millions will be improved. It is not hard to see a time coming when the number of people seeking safe places to live will spike considerably. We are now seeing places where disasters are piling up, one after the other – earthquakes, tsunamis, tornados, volcanoes, floods, water shortages, and so on. One report says there are eight recent incidents of double disasters in the same place. Soon, the pressure on countries to accept refugees will be considerable.

US MIDTERM ELECTIONS – 6TH NOVEMBER
This election is for members of the Congress: the House of Representatives and the Senate. Trump and his supporters are confident that the results will be good news for them. However, Americans are becoming more politically radicalised than ever before. Many have warned that civil unrest is coming to America, and it seems to be appearing now.
There is an extremely determined effort by some Democrats to remove the Republican majorities by foul or fair means. Trump is seen as undoing all that Obama stood for, especially globalism. Facebook has contributed by removing 559 pages for various offences, but many alternative media sites claim they are being censored for views that challenge the mainstream narrative. If the Democrats were to gain control of the Congress, they would make it impossible for anyone holding alternative views to be heard.
If the Republicans were to keep their dominant position, massive rioting and disruptions would not be unexpected. In a sign of things to come, four people were arrested recently after peaceful rallies in Oregon turned violent as Antifa protesters clashed with a Patriot Prayer rally, triggering bloody fights in the streets. A video shows agitators burning an American flag in the street, before it gets snatched away and extinguished by an American patriot group.
A deputy communications director for Minnesota’s Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party was suspended for a week for a tweet threatening members of the GOP with “guillotines.” It’s just the latest in a long list of statements advocating violence that have been made recently by Democratic leaders. Witches are casting spells on Trump and say they will continue the practice until he is removed from office.
The Rothschild’s have admitted in The Economist that Trump is trying to destroy the New World Order that globalists spent decades trying to build. Trump is seen as the biggest threat to their plans, above other legitimate threats such as jihadism and terrorism, Communist Chinese expansion, and North Korean hostility.
Those who aren’t patriotic and don’t hold conservative views, will be doing all they can to bring the government down and push the way forward to globalism, open borders, anti-Semitism and anti-Christianity. If the White House was to be inhabited by a Democrat again, Muslim prayer mats would reappear, and rainbow lights would again be seen at the White House showing the new president’s approval of the LGBT+ movement. Donald Trump is not perfect by any means, but he has certainly done a lot to help the American people with jobs and better security, and has stood by Israel’s side.
THE ISLAMIC PROBLEM
There has never been a period since the beginning of Islam in the 7th century that was characterised by large-scale peaceful coexistence between Muslims and non-Muslims. Islam never claimed to be a peaceful religion until after the September 11 2001 Twin Towers jihad when President George W. Bush appeared with several prominent Muslim leaders and declared that “Islam is peace.” In Europe, Islam is now getting the support of blinded leaders, the very people they want to destroy. Not only do leaders such as Merkel and Macron deny that Islam has never ceased from jihad, Pope Francis continues to proclaim that Islam is a religion of peace. They would rather say that jihadists are mentally ill than face the truth. As a result many Western Europeans are fleeing to the safety of Hungary to escape the dangers of living with Muslim migrants bent on jihad and raping, assaulting and killing infidels, the result of failed ‘cultural enrichment.’
Here is some more news which shows how Islam is taking over the West:
The UN General Assembly has voted by an overwhelming majority to temporarily grant the “State of Palestine” additional rights and privileges, allowing it to head the biggest bloc of developing countries at the United Nations, 134 countries plus China. Only the US, Australia and Israel voted against. NZ voted for.
Israeli PM Netanyahu says that Israel will act with ‘great strength’ against Hamas in the Gaza Strip as the Palestinian rocket attacks reach further into Israel and incendiary devices continue to be flown across the border. In just 6 months 9,000 acres of lush Israeli land has been destroyed by Islamic arson fires. Nearly half of Jewish National Fund forests and almost a quarter of Israeli nature reserves near Gaza have been destroyed, as well as more than 1,200 acres of cultivated farmland.
So far, Israel’s response has been moderate, but now Israel may have to send troops into Gaza.
Israel’s military destroyed an advanced Hamas offensive tunnel that had crossed from the Gaza Strip some 200 meters into southern Israel. According to an IDF spokesperson, it was the 15th tunnel detected and destroyed by the military since October 2017. The tunnel, which was connected to a network of other Hamas tunnels inside the coastal enclave, incorporated various new methods of construction used in order to get around the IDF’s tunnel detection system.
London now has 423 mosques and 100 Sharia Courts. The headline reads, “London is more Islamic than many Muslim countries put together.”
The major British retailer Marks and Spencer is now selling hijabs for children as young as 3 years old. Even in Saudi Arabia toddler girls aren’t forced to wear such garments. Many are showing their disgust. They are also selling them in their school-wear category. M&S already sell burkinis.
Canada has a migrant crisis. Some 18-20 migrant wannabes arrive in Toronto every day and as the shelters are full they are put up in hotels. There they cause chaos, even slaughtering goats in the bathrooms. Also, Canadian taxpayers are not being told that they are giving $50,000 to each Muslim migrant family as part of the “refugee” resettlement program.
Sweden has cancelled its large outdoor Christmas concert “Oh Holy Night,” which traditionally airs on Swedish national TV on Christmas Eve each year. Instead it will increase promotion for Islamic events. A middle school in Virginia has banned songs mentioning “Jesus” from its annual Christmas concert as part of an effort to be “more sensitive” toward the increasingly “diverse population” of its student body.
In the Netherlands, a school in Amsterdam is to replace Easter traditions with a celebration of the Islamic “Sugar Holiday.” The school “wants to give more attention to traditions of other cultures.”
Poland will not sign the UN Global Compact on Refugees, “We want Poles to be safe in their country.” The Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration deal is set to be formally adopted at the UN conference in Morocco 10-11 December. Many countries have indicated potential problems with the compact.
Spanish police have dismantled a jihadi recruiting network operating inside and across more than a dozen Spanish prisons. The network, allegedly linked to the Islamic State, was established and operated apparently under the noses of prison authorities. The network’s existence has called into question not only the effectiveness of security procedures in Spanish prisons, but also of Spanish “deradicalization” programs, which are aimed at “rehabilitating” Islamic militants for eventual “reinsertion” into society.

America is facing an invasion by migrants, many of whom will be jihadists. An illegal caravan which began in Honduras has broken through a barrier into Mexico is now estimated to be 7,000 strong as it approaches the Texas border. The Texas Border Patrol Chief has already called for help as over 12,000 illegals were caught in just a three week period recently. The migrants include gang members and drug cartel smugglers.
Witches now outnumber Presbyterians in the US as interest in astrology and witchcraft practices grow ‘astronomically.’ Occultist witches in Brooklyn, New York, are so incensed with the confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh to the US Supreme Court that they gathered in New York to put a hex on him on 20th October. Organiser Dakota Bracciale said they were casting a spell on him and were going to curse him and hex him and wish him bad things.
